Tuscania and the Surroundings
Like
all ancient towns, Tuscania boasts noble origins. According to the
historian Annio, it was founded by Aeneas' son, Ascanio, on Mars'
advice, in the place where he found a dog with twelve puppies. From
here the name "Tus-Cana". The first traces of human settlements are
linked to the Palaeolithic settlements found near the Etruscan
